An original poem by Tina Millican
Is the Result the Same?
Written by Tina Millican
A formation of an image
using words—
the opposite
of describing what you see.
Instead—
see what you hear,
feel what you read.
Words
woven together,
forming an image—
magical,
deep—
feelings,
memories surfacing,
open to interpretation.
Like the smell
of grandma’s fresh‑baked cookies,
or lilacs
blooming every year
outside your bedroom window—
both quietly encouraging you:
take some—
or not.
Photography
is writing with light,
a performance of reality
inside the mind—
a silent language
without words,
visual poetry,
interpretive story,
expression of emotion.
Writing
forms images with words,
painting pictures,
inviting feeling.
Stories
become guided experiences—
who will you love
what will it teach you
what will it awaken,
what picture
will it paint?
A window
into the deeper self—
the child
wanting only to explore,
to learn,
to feel wonder again,
to live in excitement.
Visual,
interpretive,
expressions of emotion.
Is the result
the same?
